A Destination Elopement

One of the world’s most popular destinations for an elopement or for bijou weddings is Australia’s Sunshine Coast in Queensland. The reasons it’s so popular include the gorgeous temperate weather – it’s hardly ever too hot or too cold – and the range of landscapes and environments, including beach, mountain and rainforest.

All this and some cute towns with lots to keep you occupied too!

The Sunshine Coast also has weddings of all sizes wrapped up too, with its plethora of experienced vendors and celebrants all ready to welcome you and make your day perfect. Once you get into the wedding loop in Sunshine Coast, you’ll find it takes over (in a good way) and lets you get married in an unspoiled part of the world that is somehow still well-connected to everyone.

Not far from Brisbane the Sunshine Coast is a mere 1 hour north of Brisbane, but it couldn’t be more different. There’s no big high-rise blocks along the coast and there’s a warm rural welcome for visitors.

All-year-round perfection! It’s ideal pretty much all year round for weddings, although January and February can be a bit too hot for some folks at times. This doesn’t deter people from getting married during this season, but it seems March, April May are the months to tie the knot as it’s cooling down a bit.

June and July, being the coldest months, are a bit slower (and cheaper) for weddings, but if you fancy hot chocolate in the Hinterland, go for it! Its the most perfec time to get married - yes believe it or not. The weather in winter is fresh and cool early morning and evening but heats up beautifully during the day. So its super ideal for winter weddings!

Spring, like autumn, is popular, as the temperatures are more reasonable. However, if you want a Saturday afternoon ceremony, be prepared to book at least a year in advance because slots go very rapidly indeed.

It’s not all about the wedding

Perhaps the best thing about Sunshine Coast is the sheer variety of activities on offer and the multitude of things to see. You can climb Mount Coolum, go whale-watching off the coast in the summer months, hit the Eumundi Markets or just wander the streets of Maleny Montville, taking in the art as you go.
